Customer Rating: Summary: Superb. You need this one. Comment: I had been running into a lot of trouble with the muir/ idiots guide, simply because it wasn't specific enough in details to resolve the issues I was coming across. It actually states that they won't get into the necessary details in that book. It is great to understand the theory, but when it comes down to needing something done, and done right. Look no further.
The bentley ripped right through those issues in short order. it provides troubleshooting steps and very specific wiring diagrams, which other books lack or completely disregard.
When it comes to older Volkswagens there is no telling what the previous owner had done, or had a friend do, to "resolve" an issue, this book tells you how to do it the right way, the first time.
It does have some things that are above and beyond the scope of your average person, but with a little determination, and patience the vast majority of issues can be tackled with the assistance of this book.
Customer Rating: Summary: VW Book 1 Comment: It was a gift for my son. He liked it very much. He just bought a 1979 VW Minibus.
Customer Rating: Summary: It's a Bentley... What else is there to say? Comment: It's great just like any of the other Bentley manuals I have owned. Very informative, great for the novice, yet technical enough for a pro.
Customer Rating: Summary: Very Complete Comment: When I first bought my '76 VW Westy, I purchased just about every kind of book i could find on them. This is the one I keep turning back to when I need to fix something. It has the most breakdowns and photos of any book i've found on the subject. It's broken down into categories but doesn't have an index, which is the only strike i have against it. Whatever you need to know is proably in there if you can find it.
Customer Rating: Summary: 77 Westfalia restoration Comment: Fantastic. But everyone knows that already! This is THE go to book if you are working on transporters. Beautiful exploded diagrams for even engine tin. Really great resource.
