Customer Rating: Summary: Lacks key details Comment: We bought this book for a 1-week trip to Mexico City. I did not find it very helpful. The graphic design and "top ten" format made it hard to scan, and key information was frequently lacking. As one example, we had to turn to several different sections to find out information about Bosque de Chapultepec, but none of those sections told us that the whole park is closed every Monday. We saved some museums until our last day and then couldn't get in because of this omission. There were many instances like this.
I did like the pull-out pocket map, including a subway map, and at this price you might get it just for the map. But don't get it as your main Mexico City guide unless you like being frustrated.
Customer Rating: Summary: Nice back pocket guidebook for a short trip to Mexico City Comment: Nice little book for carrying around town. The top ten lists are pretty good for what they are -- top suggestions of what to see/do/buy/eat. If you want lots of history or detail, you'll need a fatter guidebook. Lonely Planet and Let's Go fit my style for a reference guide, but Fodor's or Frommer's may fit yours.
Good maps of the major places in the city, and a Metro map. If you follow this guidebook's advice to never drive yourself, the maps are plenty. You'll need to buy a more detailed map if you want to drive in the city.
