Comment: The TomTom One leather carrying case is decent as far as portability but it seems to focus more on elegance rather than protection. Although it has a very durable leather exterior it lacks any padding or hard-cover shield against accidental drops and falls. Also the wallet-style snap on this product is a magnetic design which I found sort of questionable considering the magnetic snap sits directly on top of the TomTom LCD screen when secured inside the carrying case. I'm not sure if the magnet is strong enough to cause any damage to the screen, but this feature left me shaking my head.
However, some buyers (myself included) may be tempted by the luxurious black leather design and overall sleekness of the product. It has a very nice feel with an attractive appearance. The durable design is a definite plus and the carrying strap (which is also black leather) is very convenient but don't expect to carry it around your wrist. The strap itself is rather short which makes for a difficult time trying to maneuver it over your knuckles. This coming from a man with small hands. I've found it's a lot easier just carrying this case by the hand rather than trying to fight the strap over my knuckles every time I exit my car.
The original TomTom One carrying case and strap (which is half the price) is much better suited for travel. It fully envelopes the TomTom One with protective padding and uses a zipper rather than magnets to close shut. Still this product gets an average review mainly due to it's durability and quality.
